A Summer of Global Impact

Summer is approaching, and beginning next month, our mission teams will begin deploying around the world. Some of us will go, some will give, and we all will participate in prayer. Personally, I will travel to Mexico, India, and Turkey. I can’t wait.

This season reminds us of our commitment to “live sent” and to carry hope to the world. While we don’t wait for a mission trip and can actively go wherever we live, work, learn, and play every single day, this intentional season of international focus requires us to rely heavily on each other to plan, resource, and execute every mission.

There is great joy as we do this together. I recall our Mexico mission team last year. We were away from the comforts of everyday life but found great joy in the inconveniences and celebrated the labor together. We came alongside a family who had worked hard to buy land but needed help constructing a home. We met them and provided the materials and laborers to give them a roof over their heads, beds to sleep in, and a table to share meals.

This experience brought deep joy and community to those who served together. Paul highlights this principle in Philippians 2:16-18. As we pour out our lives for the Gospel and do so together, we tighten the bonds of faith and walk in joy together.
