Galatians 6:11

I. A Cross-Centered Life Is Humble, Not Prideful
Galatians 6:12-13
It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh who would force you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.
II. A Cross-Centered Life Boasts in the Cross, Not Self
Galatians 6:14a
But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Psalm 44:8
We boast in God all day long; we will praise Your name forever” (Ps 44:8).
III. A Cross-Centered Life Treasures Christ, Not the World
Galatians 6:14b
by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
The cross reveals in each believer a new motive of love and the power of life in the Spirit.
IV. A Cross-Centered Life Values Spiritual Transformation, Not External Ritual
Galatians 6:15-16
For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. And as for all who walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.
Galatians 2:19–20
For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
V. A Cross-Centered Life Walks in Truth, Not Error
Galatians 6:16
And as for all who walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.

VI. A Cross-Centered Life Seeks to Please Christ, Not Man
Galatians 6:17-18
From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.
