We are excited to share a special opportunity! Clement Arts and several churches are facilitating a FREE Parents Day Out Event on Saturday, March 11th, from 10 am-2 pm (asking volunteers to be there from 9:00 am – 2:45 pm). The event will be hosted at Calvary Baptist Church. This event is for current foster or kinship families or families served by a church care community in the Clement Car network.
Families can utilize this drop-off event for all the children in their homes! The event is from 10 am-2 pm. Drop-off begins at 9:45 am, and pick-up by 2:15 pm. Children will enjoy various activities (on-site) and be provided lunch.
This opportunity will allow local foster parents to drop off their kiddos and enjoy a few hours kid-free. It will be a great way to serve the parents as they can take advantage of “me” time and an opportunity for the children to have a fun day filled with arts and crafts, outdoor games, inflatables, and more fun. This will be an exciting opportunity to serve foster and adoptive families in Columbus.
We have created stations where we need volunteers to help make this opportunity:
- Opening Ceremony (Think VBS style of getting the children to engage before they head to the other stations.)
- Crafts
- Indoor Games
- Inflatables
- Organized Sport (on the softball field) (thinking kickball)
- Outside space (bubbles, chalk, jump rope, etc.)
- Lunch
- A quiet room will be available for sensory needs
- Nursery for younger children

We will have a volunteer orientation meeting starting at 9:00 am and allow time for station setup before our friends arrive. We will have an opening and closing ceremony where parents can pick up and drop off from the same location and allow children to find their groups. The groups will have a 1:4 ratio, and there will be pre-assigned stations that we will rotate every 20 minutes.
