Errands and Encounters

Everyday activities that seem ordinary can prove to be moments God uses to carry out His plan and purposes.  Are we open to Him working, and can we see it? For example, I ran to the grocery store a few weeks ago to grab a prescription and scan the aisle for any B.O.G.O deals we couldn’t live without. As it turned out, I ran into an old friend and learned why I went to the store.

She updated me on their kids and shared some heavy challenges they’d been navigating as they managed a severe eating disorder that had turned their lives upside down. We encouraged one another and now know how to pray specifically for them. 

You see, I thought I was going to the grocery store, but God ordained an encounter between two believers who needed to spend time together. How many of these providential moments do we miss because our eyes are fixed on our phones or we are unwilling to engage with people? Every day is filled with simple moments that God can and will use to carry out His plan.
