AWANA clubs meet from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. every Wednesday evening following the school year calendar. Our club focuses on Cubbies, Sparks and Truth and Training, from preschool (age 3) through 5th grade. Each club uses Bible-centered handbooks and special activities to help children gain a solid understanding of the basics of Christianity.
The AWANA program begins on August 14 at 6:30PM. If you have questions, please feel free to call the church office at (706) 322-1491.
Parent Night is August 14 at 6:30PM
First Night of AWANA is August 21 at 6:30PM
The Cubbies club is for our 3 and 4 year old boys and girls. They gather weekly to learn about God – the greatness of His love and His Word – and about His Son, Jesus Christ, the promised Savior. It is an environment designed to encourage students to learn about the potential and discover spiritual truths. By interacting with puppets and games, the Cubbies can hardly wait for the week’s club meeting. Non-competitive games are used to help build excitement and to reinforce the lessons of the stories.
With all their hard work in the activity books, the Cubbies earn awards that go on their vest. It is their goal to earn their patches and pins as they move along in their books. Each week they learn memory verses as they work through their books with their parent. It is a great opportunity for parents to disciple their children and to encourage them in their spiritual growth.
The Sparks club is for boys and girls K – 2nd grades. They gather and learn about the people and events of the Bible. The Sparks club builds on the truths that were learned during Cubbies as they build a foundation of wisdom for knowing King Jesus. However, students that have not attended Cubbies may still participate. With memory verse drills, crafts, and activities each week, they develop the foundation for Biblical doctrine and teaching.
The club is divided into three years with a different rank for the Kindergarten (HangGlider), First Grader (WingRunner), and Second Grader (SkyStormer). By working with their parents to memorizing scripture, exploring characters in the Bible, and completing their activity books, the Sparks receive rewards for their vests.
Truth and Training (T&T)
The T&T is for 3rd – 5th grade boys and girls. As they learn to answer questions about God and the Bible, they are guided into an understanding of the Grace of God. They learn that the Bible is true and that it is the firm foundation to stand upon.
Each book that the T&T works through gives them four questions about God to answer. As they move through the books, they learn eight answers to each question. This ability to give an answer for the hope that is in them allows the T&T student to have a firm trust on the foundation of Scripture and Jesus. Before completing their books, the T&T will be able to explain the Gospel and share the plan of salvation.
