At Calvary Baptist Church, we biblically train and equip men to be spiritual leaders in their homes, in the church, and in the community. The Men’s Ministry develops men in Christian living to make a positive impact for this generation and those to come. We accomplish this mission through Bible study, discipleship classes, evangelism training, leadership development, accountability groups, mentoring, retreats, mission trips and special events. In today’s culture, it’s increasingly important for men to honor God with their hearts and lives.

This is about making disciples:

Our approach to men’s ministry is all about making disciples. This is found in 2 Timothy 2:2 “and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

Making disciples is equipping men to equip other men to equip other men to be followers of Christ. In other words, being a disciple is not just about learning and growing more like Jesus… It’s about equipping other men to learn and grow more like Jesus. We believe this approach to men’s ministry will transform the world.

This permeates everything we do:

Men’s ministry permeates everything we do at Calvary Baptist Church. We are a church that’s serious about developing men to be passionate followers of Jesus.   Men must be challenged to follow God by other men.  That means, that good men in the church have to set an example for others that are trying to figure out what it means to follow Jesus for the first time. Men need mentors.

This is our strategy of ministry:

We want to see all people come to faith in Jesus.   We want to see women’s lives transformed.  We want to see children become passionate followers of Jesus. We want to see families committed to following Jesus together.   The research shows that by reaching the man in the home you have a 90% chance of changing the entire family.

Therefore, we design our church services each week for the man who doesn’t know Jesus. We believe that if this man’s life is transformed, he will reach his whole family.  Soon his wife and children will be transformed by what they see in their father or husband’s life.

We believe that reaching men will change families and as families change the city will change- as you change the city you change the country- “Do you see where we are going with this?”
