In the book of Hebrews, Jesus is compared to the different priestly roles in the Old Testament. The writer of Hebrews leads us to understand that Jesus is greater than even the High Priest. He is compared to an obscure priest/king character that Abraham met and paid homage to. This priest/king served as an example of the kind of priest we have in Jesus.
