Purpose: 

 Our Kenyan partnership is through our local church partner, New Birth Outreach. Pastor Carlos Coleman is dear friends with the staff here at Calvary. Carlos and New Birth have worked in Kenya for several years. The mission of this ministry is to connect individuals to the heart of God and teach the unaltered Word of God. They have partnered with AIC, an all-girls school to serve rescued girls from destructive home lives and provide a way for them to go to school, get jobs, and break the cycle of poverty. They sponsor some of the girls, so they will have all their school supplies and everything they need to succeed. This ministry has previously worked with boarding schools and orphanages to invest in the next generation. Another big part of their work is training pastors so they can continue the work long after we leave. There is an ever-growing need to train and resource leaders in Kenya. We desire to come alongside these boarding schools and orphanages to provide medical care for children without access to it. 

Group Size:

The ideal group size is 5-8. 

Travel:

 We will leave the church parking lot towards the airport as a team. We will leave Columbus with enough time for at least 2 hours to get through security. We will fly from Atlanta, Georgia, to Nairobi, Kenya, with a layover overseas. Once we arrive in Nairobi, we will be picked up by our missionary partners who live in Kenya. They will then drive us to the hotel where we will be staying.  

After two days in Nairobi, we will take an in-country flight to Kisumu. It will take less than an hour to arrive. We will spend two days in Kisumu and then fly back to Nairobi before departing for the United States.

Lodging:

 The hotel in Nairobi is inside the airport area and has all the American accommodations for large groups. In addition, there are fully equipped restrooms and showers with hot water!

A breakfast buffet is included with our stay at both the Marriot and Vic Hotels. Lunch will be something you can take on the go to eat on-site wherever you are serving. You will need to pack easy-to-eat snacks with you each day. Dinner will be either at the hotel or at a nearby restaurant. There is safe drinking water available at the hotels where we will be staying. You can check out both of the hotels at the links below.

Requirements:

• A passport that has not expired less than 6 months from the date of departure
• Yellow Fever Vaccination Card 
• Typhoid Vaccination 
• Malaria pills

Safety:

We will be staying at two well-known and safe hotels in Africa. We will make sure to come back to the hotel each evening before dark. We will always travel in groups, and we will be using drivers who know the area well.
