Peaches in Georgia are impossible to beat. We are not known as the “Peach State” for no reason. As a lifelong Georgia boy, I take joy in peach ice cream, peach cobbler, or just a raw peach. It truly is a pleasure! Sadly, in 2023, farmers report having lost 50%-60% of their crop due to winter conditions and a late freeze. At the same time, many are already excited about current weather conditions for the next harvest season.

A farmer learns to live from one harvest to another and also realizes that they can only control so much. Ultimately, God controls the weather, which determines their harvest. Without knowing it, they are living by faith in the “Lord of the Harvest.”
As God’s people, we can learn from them. Luke 10:2 demands that we pray to the “Lord of the Harvest’. We are to beg Him to send laborers for the harvest that He determines. Ultimately, He changes hearts and redeems souls. You and I do not have that power. Therefore, we pray to remind us of our dependence on Him and His power to rescue those around us.
Are you willing to pray and beg Him to send workers into the field? If so, prepare yourself that He will likely call you to go! This may not mean you sell all your possessions and move to a third-world country. It may mean that where you live, work, learn, and play, He calls you to go and speak the truth in love as a person of peace, carrying hope to the world He created and loves. Go in peace!
