Operation Christmas Child 2013: 350 Shoe Boxes
When school starts and Sept. gets here we start planning for Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is a worldwide children’s project of Samaritan’s Purse that uses simple gift-filled shoeboxes containing school supplies, toys, necessity items, and the life changing Good News of Jesus Christ to let children around the world know that God loves them.
Our goal for Calvary this year is 350 shoeboxes and you can help!
A Family Affair
Just pick up a flyer from the atrium which tells how to pack a shoebox. Choose an age group and whether you would like to fill a box for a boy or a girl. Then have fun as a family collecting new items that a child would love to receive and turn your filled shoebox in, on or before November 13.
Get Your Label Here
You’ll be surprised just how much you can pack into a shoebox. If you’d rather just bring a collection of items such as washcloths, or toothbrushes, or crayons, you can do that and we will pack your items for you.
Also, remember that it costs to get the shoeboxes to the children so please include a $7 check for each shoebox to cover shipping. There are collection boxes set up in the atrium, the gym foyer, Hightower Hall, and the High School, so start collecting!!
