Operation Christmas Child Packing Party
Join us for our Operation Christmas Child Packing Party on Saturday, November 9th from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the Cafeteria.
Stick around at the end for cookies and hot chocolate in Hightower Hall. This is a great mission project for the whole family!
To make this day a success, we need your help!
First, even if you can’t make the party, you can help by bringing items to pack in the shoeboxes. We’re hoping to pack at least 1,000 boxes this day to go toward our final shoebox count, so we need lots of items to make this happen! Every gift of school supplies, non-liquid hygiene items, and toys helps us get there. Drop off items in the collection bins in the Welcome Center, Hightower Hall and the Lobby on Sundays or in the church office during the week.
You can also donate money toward this effort by writing OCC on your check or giving envelope or by giving online and choosing “Operation Christmas Child” in the dropdown menu. We need donated items and money by noon on Tuesday, November 5th.
Secondly, come and pack with us! We’ll start at 10:00 a.m. and pack until noon or until all the boxes are finished. In the past, we’ve finished packing around 11:15, so aim to get there early to be able to pack several boxes.
Grab, Pack, Stack, Repeat
Our Packing Party is an opportunity for you to help us pack the items that people have donated. We’ll have stations for all the various items available to pack. Just grab a box, walk around, put items inside, get them ready for shipping, and then do it again. It’s such fun! At the end, we’ll stack the boxes and pray over them.
Prayer is so important. Please pray now for Operation Christmas Child. Pray about how God would like you to be involved. Pray for our efforts to collect boxes, the volunteers throughout Samaritan’s Purse who will deliver the boxes, and especially for the recipients of the boxes. OCC is a wonderful way to help spread the gospel and make disciples.
You can also bring in your already-filled boxes this day! The last Sunday to turn in boxes is November 17th.
