What are some life experiences you will never forget? As you reflect in your own memory bank, consider a few of mine:
- I will never forget where I was on September 11 and watched the towers fall.
- I will never forget the birth of my children and the indescribable joy in my heart.
- I will never forget the day I proposed to the woman of my dreams.
- I will never forget the weekend our church shut down due to the COVID pandemic.

I would continue on, and so could you. The point is that we all have memories that are etched in our memory due to the stress, overwhelming stimulus in our brain, or the extreme emotion of joy or sadness. Consider then, the impact that was made on the heart of the women that approached the empty tomb in Luke 24. The trauma, fear, and emotions are described in the biblical accounts.
What is noteworthy is their level of faith and response. Whether you read in Luke 24 or Mark 16, their reaction was a step of faith to go and tell! The proclamation of what they had experienced was an exercise in faith. While their actions had no influence in the cause, their actions did have impact on the effect.
Similarly, you and I stand forgiven because of what Jesus has done. No matter the uncertainty around us, we have confidence in Jesus. He can never be cancelled. He is alive. He is risen. He reigns. He speaks.
We remember. We rest. We reflect as we proclaim Him to friends and family every day while we carry hope to the world.
Our boldness to follow their example and proclaim the truth of our risen Savior can have an effect on the growth of His kingdom. Will you worship and proclaim Him today?
