I. Professing Jesus impacts our every day
1 Peter 3:1
Likewise…
II. Power of a Woman
1 Peter 3:1-6
1 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, 2 when they see your respectful and pure conduct. 3 Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— 4 but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. 5 For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, 6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.
A. Tension Exists
Genesis 3:16
To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.”
Biblical submission is:
1. Mutual
Ephesians 5:21
submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
2. Empowering
The greatest champion for the power of a woman is Jesus
B. Focus on the Internal
Soul care is more important than skin care
C. Seek MentorsThe super power of a godly woman is their impact for eternity
III. Prideful Men Won’t Cut It
1 Peter 3:7
Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
A. Know your role
Your role as a man is to:
1. Understand God’s plan
2. Serve and protect your wife
3. Honor your wife
She deserves your “A-game” every day
B. Team first
Galatians 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Punks are not acceptable. Prayer warriors are preferred.
