During our You Ask. We Answer. series, we had several questions texted in about marriage. We attempted to answer some of these during the service, but ran out of time. So the pastors gathered to make sure we answered each question that was asked.
We have divided the session into three videos. We have also included a selection of recommended reading resources compiled by the Pastors and Elders. You don’t find a great marriage; you have to fight for a great marriage. Fight against self and society to make your marriage great.
Part 1:
In this video we look at the following questions:
1. My husband and I are both believers but we fight like cats and dogs. If Jesus makes us one in a Christian marriage, why do we still fight so much? 0:58
2. If I don’t make my wife happy, does that mean that I’m failing God? 2:25
3. What is the meaning of headship and submission in the Bible and in our marriage? 4:10
Part 2:
In this video we look at the following questions:
1. Is it an issue for married people to have close friends of the opposite sex? Texting, spending one-on-one time, etc? 0:14
2. How do I make my wife feel beautiful even though she may feel, after many kids, she is no longer attractive? 4:42
3. Is it wrong for my wife and I not to want children? 7:13
4. How careful should a married man be regarding female co-workers or female friends? My wife is even uncomfortable with me riding in a car with a female. 10:07
Part 3:
In this video we look at the following questions:
1. Do I still need to “pursue” my wife after marriage or is there a sense of maintaining a relationship until death do us part? 0:14
2. Am I married to a person in God’s eyes if I [have sex] with that person before getting married? 3:24
3. How do I minister the word of God and vocalize my concerns to a close friend who is entering into a marriage with a non-Christian? 6:50
4. What if my husband doesn’t act like the spiritual leader? What if our convictions are different? 9:38
5. Is a husband truly supposed to keep pursuing his wife after they’ve been married? Work and life are just so busy, do I really need to do that too? 9:38
