Trust the Rejected King

In a vineyard carefully prepared by a gracious owner, tenants are given the privilege to work and harvest, according to Mark 12:1-12. But when the time comes to return the fruit, they respond with violence, attacking every servant the owner sends. Finally, the owner sends his beloved son, thinking they will respect him. Instead, they kill him.

It’s more than a story—it’s a diagnosis. Jesus is exposing the hearts of Israel’s leaders, but also ours. God has spoken through His Word, His prophets, and ultimately through His Son, Jesus. The question is: how will we respond?

The message is clear and sobering: to reject the Son is to reject the Father who sent Him. But embedded in the warning is a promise. The rejected stone becomes the cornerstone. Jesus’ death was not the end—it was the beginning of something glorious. God builds His kingdom on the One the world cast aside.

Are you resisting God’s voice? Ignoring His messengers? Running your own vineyard like you own it? There’s good news. The Son who was rejected was rejected for you. He took your judgment. He rose in victory. And now He invites you into His vineyard of grace.

Come to the Cornerstone. Trust the Rejected King. Build your life on Him.
