Helping Children in Need Sleep Better
We fully believe that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional, and mental support that a child needs. According to research, during a 30-minute drive around Columbus, we could have as many as 3,000 children who sleep on the floor. All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. Across the US, too many children go without a bed—or even a pillow—to sleep on. These children end up sleeping on couches, blankets, and even floors. This can affect their happiness and health.
That’s where Sleep in Heavenly Peace comes in. It’s a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling, and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need.
Every bed they build is handcrafted and constructed by volunteers willing to donate their time to help children in their community, funded by the generous donations of many. The joy that comes from delivering a bed to a child that otherwise doesn’t have one is a life-changing adventure that volunteers and sponsors can experience firsthand.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a ministry we’ve partnered with previously, where we take raw lumber and make bunk beds for children who do not have adequate sleeping arrangements.
We need volunteers to come to the build on Saturday, October 1st from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. You do not need to have experience with woodworking to participate. We want to be a part of the solution so that no child sleeps on the floor in our city. We will partner with New Birth Outreach and CrossPointe.
